Joomla
I use Joomla, arguably the best Content Management System available right now.
It isn’t the easiest to use but there are so many components that can be added for almost any conceivable need that it is simply too good not to use. An added beauty, for a non designer like me, is that there are hundreds of design templates available to buy and use. So I can be sure to meet most needs. A bit of tweaking might be required but I can handle that.
The list of Joomla extensions available that can add functionality is very extensive and covers most requirements such as :
- Calendars
- Events
- Event Registration
- Forums
- Instant messaging
- SMS
- Membership
- Feedback
- Polls
- Questionnaires
- Newsletters
- RSS feeds
- Social Bookmarking
- E-Commerce
- Subscriptions
- Translators
- Galleries
- Podcasts
- Video Players
- Latest News
- Image rotators
- Slideshows
The list grows constantly. Look at http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions for the complete list.
A lot of these are free but some have a commercial licence. I only charge the cost price for any that have a fee but I will charge if any of them need customising. Not all of these extensions are high quality; some cause conflicts with other systems. So a degree of care needs to be used before they are installed.
