Prices
- Internet consultancy - £75 per hour. Take the advice with you or come back and ask me to develop the project If I carry out the project the consultancy fees will be offset against development charges.
- Website creation – how much is a car? I look at the project, consider what design you require (bespoke or off the shelf), what functionality is required (can this be provided using free applications or is there a license fee, is any modification required to the software to make it do exactly what we want), then I look at how long the project is going to take to create, populate with text and images and publish. Maybe then I can give you an estimate. In my experience there is always an element of project slippage – if this is my fault then I don’t charge but where you the client have added something or changed the spec and this adds extra time then there will be an extra cost added. It is unlikely that I will create a website for less than £1,000, but if you don’t contact me with details of what you want to do we won’t know!
- Domain name registration – at cost to me as part of the overall project.
- Hosting – depends on the type of website. Our hosting also includes a fee for maintenance of the website – making sure that it is kept up to date with the latest security settings required to fight off hackers etc. All our hosting packages come with:
- unlimited email addresses
- more than enough server space for most websites
- high bandwidth to serve all those visits to the standard website.
Funding
Is there a grant or other funding out there that might help you with the cost of your website?
I have managed to help some of my clients get funding either towards the capital cost of their project or towards the cost of training.
The source and availability of these are constantly changing but we will advise you if we are aware of any that are available.
